And most of all it is easy for students to find a job in UK after compleating their higher education. And for this, In 2007 they made a legal amendement to allow Graduates who have successfully compleated their courses can work for one year to get experience and expertise from his UK work when he is going to home.
To reduce the cost of your education you can finish your GCE (A/L) examination from your country. Also do your IELTS examination and be ready. IELTS examination is valid for two years only, after this period you have to get the certificate again.
It is not possible to switch from visitor to student status once in the UK. You must have the correct visa before you go.
You must apply for the UK student visa at the nearest visa-application centre, in india you can apply UK student visa online too. (Once you have sent your online application, you need to print a copy and take or post to VFS, with the fee, your passport, and the documents, you need to support your application. VFS will then send your application to the appropriate visa department for processing.)

There is no guarntee that the visa officer will issue a visa even if you submit all the necessary documents.So, don't buy the airline ticket till you get the visa.But you can reserve your seat with your agent.
