Highly Skilled Migrant Programme for the UK.

This is a Programme that is to allow Highly Skilled persons to immigrate in to the UK for searching job or to make self employment.This is different from the work permit arrangement as the person is not necessary to have a job offer on the arrival. And there is no need to have business plans, investing in the UK or creating jobs for people.

To qualify for the HSMP.
HSMP is a points-based immigration scheme. Points are scored in four main areas which are
1. Qualifications
2. Past Earnings
3. Age Assessment
4. UK Experience

In this four Areas you must score 75 points or more and must satisfy the English Language requirements to qualify for this HSMP.

As a highly skilled migrant you can stay 24 months for looking for work or to make self employment ways. After the initial 24 months if you meet the eligibility you can apply for another 3 years leave to stay in UK. Further more if you lived in UK for 5 continious years with the permission of the Home Office you may apply for an Indefinite time leave to remain in the UK.
